Two prices for a local journey are only comparable when they describe the same service. One may be for a direct ride, another for several stops or a larger vehicle. Before choosing, put the requested route and passenger needs into a short written brief. This helps you understand the quotation without relying on a map estimate or assuming every vehicle category carries the same fare.

Begin with actual addresses

Provide the pickup and destination addresses, not only Davos, Klosters or a valley name. Include a separate entrance or collection point if it changes the practical road journey. The distance used for a road fare is not a straight line between place names. If an address cannot be resolved clearly, ask for the route to be reviewed rather than expecting a price built from an invented distance. Precision is useful even when the trip appears short.

Compare the vehicle categories correctly

For ordinary routes outside the fixed Zurich–Davos arrangement, the published rates are CHF 3 per road kilometre for Economy, CHF 4 for Van, CHF 4 for E-Class and CHF 6 for S-Class. These are category rates, not a statement that every category has the same passenger or luggage capacity. Choose a suitable vehicle first, then compare the corresponding quotation. Other categories remain individually quoted, so an absent automatic price should prompt an enquiry rather than an assumed rate.

List the stops that change the service

A visit to collect keys, a second passenger address or a shopping stop changes a direct journey. State each stop and explain whether you expect the driver to wait. Ask the transport team to confirm the complete price and terms for that arrangement. Do not apply a direct-route estimate to a day of errands without discussing it. The useful comparison is the agreed service from first pickup to final drop-off, with the same assumptions on both quotations.

Read the return as its own journey

A return may start at a different location, carry different passengers or happen after midnight. Check the return date, time and addresses separately instead of simply doubling an outward amount. Any applicable supplement or special requirement should be visible in the confirmed total. If your plans are still uncertain, explain which details remain open. A quote based on a definite itinerary cannot be assumed to cover every later version of the trip without review.

Confirm what has actually been accepted

Submitting details or seeing an estimate does not by itself confirm availability. Keep the written response that sets out the vehicle, journey and agreed total. Check the payment arrangement and how changes should be requested. If something differs from your original brief, resolve it before travel rather than trying to reconstruct the discussion at pickup. A clear quotation is useful because it tells both you and dispatch what has been accepted, not merely because it displays a number.

Questions about this journey

Are the kilometre rates charged per passenger?

The published category rates apply to the vehicle journey, subject to the confirmed route and suitable capacity.

Can I calculate the fare from a straight-line map distance?

No. Use the confirmed road route and ask for review when the actual driving distance is unavailable.

Is an estimate a confirmed booking?

No. Availability and the agreed journey need the transport team’s confirmation.
