The difficult part of a short town ride is sometimes getting everybody to the same place. Friends may be browsing different shops, finishing coffee or walking back from an appointment. Before requesting a collection on the Promenade, decide where the party will gather and who will tell dispatch that everyone is ready. The street name alone is not a usable meeting instruction.

Pick a gathering point before a vehicle point

First choose a place where the group can comfortably find one another, such as the entrance of a business that everyone can identify. Then ask dispatch whether the car can collect there or needs a nearby alternative. These may be two different points. Do not assume that standing outside a shop makes the kerb available for a taxi. Use the agreed vehicle location in the final booking and keep the gathering instructions for the people in your party.

Set a readiness time, not just a pickup time

Tell your companions when they need to have finished shopping and reached the meeting place. That should allow time to locate one another before the car is due. A person who is still paying in a shop is not ready even if the shop is close. If the party is not together, update the coordinating passenger before they contact the driver. This avoids announcing a complete group while one person is still several streets away.

Send a recognisable location description

A building number and business name are useful together. Add the side of the entrance or another fixed feature if dispatch requests it, but avoid vague descriptions such as opposite the nice hotel. Share a location pin only when it matches the agreed road collection point. A pin can land behind the building or inside a shopping area. If the driver gives a revised stopping point, relay the same message to the whole party.

Choose how to handle a late companion

Decide whether the party will wait, divide into separate rides or cancel the original arrangement if one person is delayed. Discuss any change with dispatch because the vehicle's schedule and the agreed fare may be affected. Do not ask the driver to circulate indefinitely while somebody finishes an errand. A clear update with the number of people ready to travel is easier to act on than repeated messages saying that everyone will be there soon.

Board with the final destination agreed

Once the group is assembled, confirm where everyone is going. If the car has several drop-offs, give the full sequence before leaving and obtain acceptance of the revised route if it differs from the booking. Gather shopping bags and personal items before boarding. Keep one person responsible for communication throughout the ride. The result is a straightforward local journey, even when the travellers have spent the afternoon independently in different parts of Davos.

Questions about this journey

Is the Promenade enough as a pickup address?

No. Provide a building number or named venue and agree the actual vehicle collection point.

Can we send a location pin?

Yes, but check that it marks the agreed pickup point rather than a rear entrance or interior area.

What if one friend is late?

Tell dispatch promptly and agree whether to wait, change the pickup or arrange a separate ride.
