A family ski day can end at several different times. One child finishes a lesson before lunch, another continues into the afternoon, and an adult is skiing elsewhere. A single return booking works only when those separate commitments have a clear meeting sequence. Start with the instructors’ confirmed release arrangements, then decide which adults will collect each child and where the complete party can assemble for the road journey.

List each supervised handover

Write down the lesson provider, the child’s group, the meeting point and the adult responsible for collection. Ask the provider how changes to the finishing location are communicated. A mountain name is not a collection address, and a lesson ending above the valley is different from one ending beside a road. The taxi should collect the family after the agreed adult handovers; it does not replace the school’s release procedure or provide childcare.

Choose one practical assembly point

Compare the lesson endpoints before selecting the vehicle pickup. If one adult needs to accompany a child down a lift, include that connection in the sequence. The best assembly point is a clearly described, permitted vehicle location near the final handover, rather than an attractive landmark that requires everyone to walk back across the resort. Send the place name and street address to dispatch and keep the instructor’s separate instruction available.

Separate ready time from lesson time

A lesson’s advertised end is not necessarily the time a family can board. Boots may need changing, hired equipment may need checking, and a child may have belongings at a different collection desk. Build those tasks into your own schedule without promising dispatch an exact duration you cannot support. If the lesson runs differently, contact the transport team with the revised readiness time and request an amendment rather than assuming the driver can wait indefinitely.

Recount the afternoon load

The return can carry more than the morning journey: borrowed skis, helmets, jackets and bags may have accumulated during the day. Before choosing a vehicle, describe those items alongside passengers and child-seat requirements. A seat count alone does not establish space for long equipment. Keep the names of the people travelling and the equipment list in one message, so a change to the family arrangement does not leave the original vehicle request out of date.

Finish with a shared message

Nominate one adult to send the final update when everyone has completed their handover and reached the agreed area. Give dispatch the booking reference and any changed destination. Other relatives should receive that same plan, especially if they are collecting equipment separately. Before departure, check helmets, gloves and the children’s small bags together. That final count is easier at the assembly point than after the family has dispersed to different addresses.

Questions about this journey

Can the driver collect a child directly from a lesson?

Arrange collection by the responsible adult with the lesson provider; do not treat a taxi booking as an unaccompanied-child or childcare service.

Should the return time equal the lesson end time?

Allow for the actual handover, mountain connection and equipment tasks before stating when the whole party will be ready.

What if the two groups finish at different bases?

Discuss separate collections or a shared assembly point before confirmation, including any additional stop and vehicle requirements.
