Davos day transfers: storing bags between drop-off and pickup

Agree storage for bags between Davos drop-off and pickup with the actual holder. Do not assume an ordinary taxi booking keeps luggage in the vehicle throughout the day.

Two booked journeys do not automatically create an all-day luggage-storage service. If the family wants to leave ordinary shoes, a stroller or a dry bag somewhere during an activity, decide where that will happen before confirming the schedule. A clear storage arrangement keeps the afternoon pickup independent of assumptions about which vehicle or driver will return and what belongings it might still be carrying.

Choose a named place or responsible person

Ask the venue, activity provider or another appropriate place whether it accepts the items you want to leave and under what conditions. Confirm access, collection arrangements and any restrictions directly. A general mention of facilities on a visitor website is not a reservation. If a relative will hold the belongings, make sure that person knows the return meeting point and is not planning to leave earlier with a different group.

Do not assume the same vehicle waits

A point-to-point morning ride normally ends when the agreed road journey is complete. If you need a driver or vehicle to remain available, request the full arrangement and have its price and limits confirmed. Otherwise, the afternoon collection may use a different allocation. Leaving belongings in the first vehicle without agreement can create a problem for both journeys, particularly when the car has other passengers or commitments after your drop-off.

Keep essential items with their owner

Organise bags so that items needed during the activity remain with the relevant traveller. The storage plan should concern belongings that can properly be left under the agreed conditions, not necessities the group may need unexpectedly. Keep the collection receipt or locker information with the organiser and make a simple item list. Avoid unnecessary personal details on visible labels; use a recognisable identifier and the information required by the storage provider.

Include collection in the afternoon sequence

Work out whether the party will retrieve everything before meeting the car or whether an additional road stop is required. Give dispatch the actual collection address if a stop is requested. The afternoon pickup time should reflect completion of the storage handover, any change of footwear and the group reaching the road. Do not describe the group as ready while one person is still collecting belongings from another location.

Reassess the returning load

The return vehicle may carry the stored bags plus equipment collected during the activity. Send that full load when requesting the afternoon ride, rather than repeating a lighter morning estimate. At departure, check the storage location and count everything that should travel. At the destination, repeat the count before the vehicle leaves. If an item is missing, contact the appropriate provider with its description instead of assuming the transport team still has it.

Questions about this journey

Can bags stay in the vehicle between two separate bookings?

Only if a specific storage or waiting arrangement has been explicitly accepted.

Will the same driver necessarily return?

Do not assume that. Confirm any particular requirement with dispatch.

Should retrieving stored bags be included in the pickup time?

Yes. Plan to finish collection before pickup or request a separately agreed stop.
