A walking day with a dog has a different return load from an ordinary passenger journey. A carrier, towels, bowls and daypacks may all need space, while the animal itself must have an agreed transport arrangement. Tell Davos Taxi about the dog before confirming the ride. A destination’s general welcome for dogs does not automatically establish acceptance in a particular private vehicle or permission at every activity location.

Describe the animal and its equipment

State how many dogs will travel, their approximate size and the proposed carrier or restraint arrangement. For a crate, provide its external length, width and height. Add all passengers and other luggage to the request. Large crates can occupy substantial space even when the passenger group is small, and more than one vehicle may be needed. Have the actual arrangement confirmed rather than choosing a category solely by its advertised number of seats.

Check the outing with its own providers

Consult current official visitor information and the rules of any mountain transport or venue involved. The regional tourism website provides guidance for holidays with dogs, but the conditions of your particular activity still matter. Keep questions about trails, animal access and mountain transport with the relevant operator. The taxi booking covers the agreed road journey and should not be interpreted as permission to take a dog into every part of the day’s programme.

Prepare for the condition of the return load

After an outdoor outing, the dog and its equipment may be wet or muddy. Bring suitable covers, towels or packing and agree any special carriage needs beforehand. Follow the instructions for your carrier or restraint rather than improvising a setup at boarding. Keep the animal’s belongings together so that small items do not become scattered among other passengers’ bags. Any unusually bulky equipment should be included in the capacity review.

Choose a calm, usable road handover

Give dispatch an exact road pickup and explain whether the party needs a short practical period to organise the dog and equipment. Confirm a permitted stopping place rather than asking the vehicle to collect you from a walking path. One adult should remain responsible for the animal while the group gathers its belongings. If the walk ends elsewhere, request the revised pickup and have it accepted before relying on the original booking.

Keep the next journey accurate

After unloading, check the carrier, covers and dog’s accessories as well as the ordinary luggage. If the return load proved larger than expected, update the details before booking another outing. A successfully completed journey with one small carrier does not establish capacity for a larger crate or a second animal. Keep the accepted pet arrangement in the written confirmation so every traveller understands what has been requested and what the transport team has agreed.
