An e-bike transport request deserves more detail than a normal luggage count. The bicycle’s size, weight and electrical equipment can affect the handling arrangement, while passengers still need their own seats and bag space. Before confirming a road journey around Davos, tell the transport team exactly what you intend to bring. Do not assume a standard car booking includes any bicycle carrier or specialist handling equipment.

Describe the bike without guessing

Provide the make and model if available, the number of bicycles and their approximate dimensions. Include the battery arrangement and any information the transport team requests about weight or handling. Use the manufacturer’s documentation for technical details instead of estimating from how the bike looks. The booking should describe the actual equipment travelling on the day; a change to a different rental model should be communicated before the vehicle arrangement is finalised.

Keep handling instructions with the supplier

If you are hiring the bicycle, ask the rental company about permitted road transport, preparation and return requirements. Follow the manufacturer’s or supplier’s instructions for any battery or component handling. This guide does not prescribe removal, packing or charging procedures. Tell dispatch which preparation the supplier permits and have the carriage method agreed. A driver should not be expected to improvise technical work on an unfamiliar bicycle at the pickup point.

Review every transport stage separately

A mountain lift, rail service and private vehicle may have different conditions for carrying an e-bike. Check each provider’s current information for the particular service you intend to use. The regional mountain operator publishes bike-transport information, but that does not establish acceptance on a taxi. Make the entire day’s sequence clear, especially when the outward journey uses one form of transport and the return uses another.

Choose an accessible meeting place

Give the road address or recognised vehicle area at which the group will assemble. A trail endpoint or mountain restaurant is not enough unless dispatch has confirmed it is a suitable road pickup. State whether the cycles will be assembled, packed or returned to the supplier before the car arrives. If you need a rental-shop stop, request its address and purpose in advance rather than adding it informally once the journey has begun.

Allow a proper confirmation

The transport team may need to assess a specialist vehicle or another arrangement; availability should not be assumed. Ask for the accepted equipment list, route and price in writing. If the actual load changes, request a new review. On the day, gather the agreed items before pickup and keep the supplier’s instructions accessible. After unloading, count batteries or other separately packed accessories against your own list, without asking the driver to take responsibility for their technical condition.

Questions about this journey

Can any taxi carry an e-bike?

No. The complete equipment and carriage method require a specific confirmation.

Should I remove the battery myself?

Follow the manufacturer’s or rental supplier’s instructions and the accepted transport arrangement; do not guess.

What if the rental company gives me a different model?

Send the updated equipment details to dispatch before relying on the original vehicle confirmation.
