A runner may carry very little on the route but want a change of clothing and footwear afterwards. That creates a practical question for the return journey: where will those belongings be waiting, and how will the runner reach the agreed road pickup? Plan those details before the activity, especially when several people are finishing separately or when the route ends somewhere different from the start.
Give the sporting plan its own organiser
Choose the route and assess its suitability using appropriate current information and guidance. Davos provides official activity and trail information, which should be checked for relevant changes. The taxi team does not monitor a runner’s progress or assess the activity’s safety. A road booking is a transport arrangement after the run, not a support vehicle, rescue plan or commitment to reach any point along the route.
Place the dry bag deliberately
Arrange where ordinary shoes, clothing and personal belongings will be kept during the activity. Confirm storage with the responsible venue or person rather than assuming a driver can retain the bag between journeys. If a companion carries it, make sure that person knows the final pickup. The runner should retain the information and essentials required for the activity independently; do not make access to a taxi-stored bag part of an emergency plan.
Define the finish the vehicle can reach
Use a recognised road address or permitted vehicle meeting area. A route finish on a map may be beyond normal road access, so discuss the practical handover with dispatch before confirming. If several runners finish at different places, request separate collections or an agreed assembly point. Avoid presenting a range of possible endpoints as though one vehicle can automatically cover them all at the original quoted price.
Agree ordinary timing changes
Provide a sensible intended collection time and explain any uncertainty. Ask how waiting or a later pickup would be handled. If the group changes the activity and has normal communications available, the designated organiser should contact dispatch with the requested revision. A delayed message does not itself amend the booking. Keep the driver’s instructions separate from any sporting support communications so that routine transport questions reach the right person.
Finish the activity before boarding
Allow time to collect the dry bag, change footwear where appropriate and gather the whole party at the agreed road point. Pack damp clothing suitably and count poles or other equipment if carried. If someone is leaving with another companion, update the passenger list rather than keeping the car waiting for a person no longer travelling. Confirm the destination and any agreed stop, then check the same belongings when the journey ends.
Questions about this journey
Is the taxi a trail-running support vehicle?
No. Any support or specialist arrangement would need a separate explicit agreement; a standard booking is a road transfer.
Can the driver keep a dry bag all day?
Only if a specific storage or waiting arrangement has been accepted beforehand.
What happens if runners finish at different points?
Agree separate journeys or one practical road assembly point before confirmation.
